The Library of Alexandria burned because human knowledge was tethered to perishable substrate, vulnerable to the whims of centralized power and the physical decay of parchment. Throughout history, the loss of cultural memory has been the primary tool for erasing the agency of the governed. Had the Bitcoin Timechain existed as an immutable ledger for historical record, the deliberate destruction of facts would have been structurally impossible. We are transitioning from an era where truth is defined by those who hold the archives to one where truth is defined by the objective permanence of the computation itself. When history is no longer subject to revision, the mechanisms of institutional deceit will lose their grip, forcing a complete redesign of the relationship between authority and reality.
